For RI pet owners on hard times, these grants for animal welfare are a life saver.

The Rhode Island Pet Network and BUPPY PETS recently teamed up to host a speed dating adoption event called “Woof You Be Mine.”

Skip the flowers and the chocolates because these first-dates are more interested in tennis balls and peanut butter treats.

Defenders of Animals’ awards will be given to Councilman Tassoni and Jordan Bouclin, the Founder and executive director of the Rhode Island Pet Network, a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to providing support to local animal shelters, no-kill rescues, and pet owners facing personal and financial hardships.

East Greenwich kicked off the dog days of Summer this weekend by hosting Hounds at the Harbor. The event featured free massages for dogs, live music, games, raffles, a “mutt strut” adoptable dog fashion show and more. All proceeds raised will benefit Rhode Island Pet Network’s mission to support local animal shelters and rescues.
