RIPN’s Jordan Bouclin Honored by Defenders of Animals with 2023 “Humane Heroes” Award

On August 19th, our team attended the Defenders of Animals’ candlelight vigil for International Homeless Animals Day. The ceremony at the Sprague Mansion in Cranston was emceed by WJAR10 morning meteorologist and animal lover, Christina Erne, and hosted by Defenders of Animals’ Director Dennis Tabella.

Rhode Island Pet Network Executive Director, Jordan Bouclin, was honored with a Humane Heroes Award! Her fellow honoree, Smithfield Town Councilman and former state senator John J. Tassoni Jr., was recognized for all that he’s done to advance animal welfare laws in our state.

Thank you to Dennis Tabella and Defenders of Animals, not just for this recognition, but most importantly for fighting for Rhode Island’s animals for more than 40 years. It’s humbling to stand beside such inspiring advocates! We encourage all to support their mission to improve the lives of Rhode Island animals through legislative efforts.
